- Transmontana 480-065 performs the tests for TSI authorization
If in 2019 the TransMontana 480-019 of DB Cargo Romania successfully completed the tests for the RNTS (Romanian National Technical Standards) authorization in Bulgaria, 4 years later the Transmontana 480-065 performs the tests for the TSI (Technical Specifications for Interoperability) authorization at the European level for towing freight trains with V.max 120km/h.

The company has an active fleet consisting of 78 locomotives of all types, to which 2 other LEMA (TransMontana) type electric locomotives, purchased from Softronic Craiova, will soon be added. The locomotives are intended for use on the territory of Romania, and soon they will be authorized for use on the territory of Hungary.
- LTE logistics & transport signed today a framework contract for the purchase of 5 TransMontana v3.2
Today, the framework contract was signed between LTE logistics & transport Austria and Softronic Craiova for the purchase of 5 TransMontana v3.2 locomotives. The 5 units are part of the new version 3.2 which will also be equipped with ETCS provided by Thales Group, the locomotives are TSI (Technical Specifications for Interoperability) authorized at european standards for hauling freight trains with max. speed of 120km/h. ETCS is the central signaling and train control component of ERTMS (European Rail Traffic Management System), the European Rail Traffic Management System. ETCS continuously calculates a safe maximum speed for each train, with cab signaling for the driver and on-board systems taking over if the permitted speed is exceeded. For ETCS, the track equipment and systems carried by the train must be standardized according to the different ETCS levels for each individual country/railway system. The first two locomotives of the new series for LTE will be delivered in 2023 and will serve in Romania, Hungary and, why not, Austria. LTE now owns 5 TransMontana locomotives with the 480-004, 019, 024, 029 and 030 series. The TransMontana locomotive, now at 3'rd version has been designed, built, tested and authorized for the altitude of 1,500m, the minimum temperature -30*C and maximum +40*C with a relative humidity of 100%.
- TransMontana locomotives series 065 & 066, purchased for DB Cargo Romania
DB Cargo Romania consolidates its position as the most important Softronic customer for TransMontana locomotives on the Romanian OTF private freight market, purchasing units 065 & 066, the latest products in terms of asynchronous traction rolling stock from the manufacturer in Craiova. With TM 065 and 066, the DB Cargo Romania fleet reaches the value of 23 new locomotives purchased from Softronic, we do not yet have a precise index of the locomotives but approximately 23 are so far. TransMontana 065 & 066 performed the first tests to verify the on-board devices and equipment in the engine room on Friday on the Cernele - Filiași and return line, the test result was a real success.

DB Cargo Roamania Group consolidates its status as the 2nd largest Softronic customer after Green Cargo Sweden and acquires the TransMontana 065 and 066 locomotives. Internally, DB Cargo is the largest Softronic customer with over 20 new locomotives purchased from the manufacturer in Craiova. LTE Logistics & Transport buys from Softronic Craiova the locomotive TransMontana 019, for those who do not know, TM 019 was the locomotive for the authorization of Softronic rolling stock in Europe, it performed the tests for authorizations in Bulgaria, Slovakia and most importantly in Sweden which now it has in the fleet of the state railway operator a number of 16 locomotives TM classified class MB and another 6 contracted for delivery in 2023. LTE now owns 5 TransmMontana locomotives with the 004, 019, 024, 029 and 030 series, what we can now officially tell you about them is that in the near future, possibly from 2023, they will be gradually transferred to the LTE subsidiary in Bulgaria. LTE Logistics & Transport is in advanced talks with Softronic for another batch of locomotives equipped with ETCS & MIREL safety and control systems for use in Romania and Europe.
- Softronic Craiova delivers TransMontana 063 & 064 for United Railways / Bulmarket Bulgaria
Softronic Craiova delivered 2 Transmontana 480 series locomotives for United Railways, a subsidiary of Bulmarket Bulgaria, the first 2 new asynchronous locomotives in the company's fleet based in Bulgaria.

Multiple command traction tests and equipment testing with TransMontana 063 & 064 for Bulmarket Bulgaria have started. The locomotives are the first in a test batch of 2 locomotives for Bulmarket Bulgaria and will be used predominantly in Romania at the Bulmarket subsidiaries in the country. Bulmarket's main business is the production and distribution of petroleum products and alternative fuels such as biofuel and LPG.
- Static tests with TransMontana 063 for United Railways begin
Softronic Craiova started today the static tests with TransMontana 063 for United Railways Bulgaria. The locomotive is the first in a test batch of 2 locomotives for Bulmarket Bulgaria and will be used predominantly in Romania at Bulmarket subsidiaries in the country. Bulmarket's main business is the production and distribution of petroleum products and alternative fuels such as biofuel and LPG. The transport company Bulmarket, Bulgaria signed in September 2021 a contract with the manufacturer Softronic Craiova for the purchase of the 2 new TransMontana locomotives.
- TRANSMONTANA 062 ready for delivery to EP-Rail operator
TransMontana 062 becomes the 8’th locomotive purchased by EP-Rail from between 2018 and 2022; EP-Rail thus becomes the 2’nd SOFTRONIC's customer in Romania after DB Cargo. The first TransMontana locomotive purchased by EP-Rail was 035, followed by 036, 037, 038, 039, 048, 060 and now 062. In the last 3 years, EP-Rail has become the main SOFTRONIC's customer for the Romanian market, the locomotives produced in CRAIOVA reaching 8 units in the EP-Rail's fleet.
- Softronic Craiova reintroduces the EC 462 009-8 locomotive into circulation
Class 43/44 locomotives have evolved over time in Romania to class 46.2 made by SOFTRONIC CRAIOVA with modernization of TSAM 2 type equipment. It is the most modern, reliable and efficient modernization made by a rolling stock manufacturer for this series of locomotives from Romania. Even though SOFTRONIC has not modernized locomotives since 2011, the full activity being asynchronous locomotive and EMU production, the factory still occasionally produces TSAM equipment and performs RR overhauls - periodic vehicle repair, technological processes with lifting on axles / bogies for modernized locomotives by 2011.
- Bulmarket / United Railways in Bulgaria becomes the 9'th Softronic customer
The Bulgarian transport company Bulmarket signed a contract with the manufacturer Softronic Craiova on Friday for the purchase of 2 new TransMontana locomotives. They are the first locomotives produced at Softronic for the Bulgarian market and will operate in Romania at the subsidiary Bulmarket - United Railways. The two locomotives will be named Ruse and Gurghevo, on which occasion the owners witness the long-lasting fruitful friendship between the two border towns of Bulgaria and Romania. United Railways, which will operate the two locomotives in Romania, has a majority shareholding of 65% in Bulgaria and 35% in Romania. Bulmarket was established in 1996 and received a rail freight license in Bulgaria in 2005, becoming the first private freight company in Bulgaria.
- Tests with TransMontana 061 (Cargo Trans Vagon) and also tests with TransMontana 062 (EP-Rail) begin
TransMontana 061 becomes the 4'th asynchronous locomotive produced by Softronic Craiova from the fleet of the Cargo Trans Vagon (private freight railway operator), after TM 007, 011 and 051. Last week Softronic Craiova performed the final tests with 061 on the already classic route Cernele - Craiova - Bucharest Băneasa - Constanța and back, the 880 km were covered without unforeseen technical events, the test being a real success.
